Carrusel Fiesta de las Mozuelas en Peligros

En el ámbito cultural, las concejalías de Cultura y Fiestas del Ayuntamiento de Peligros han organizado una nueva edición del ‘Carrusel Fiesta de las Mozuelas’, una propuesta cultural-lúdico-festiva que, durante tres días, el 22, 23 y 25 de mayo, llenará los espacios públicos del municipio, como la Plaza de los Patos, el Anfiteatro municipal o el Parque Blas Infante, de espectáculos de magia, circo, teatro, música y pasacalles, con una programación variada dirigida a todo tipo de público.

Además, el martes, 25 de mayo a las doce de la mañana, el Teatro Pablo Neruda acogerá la obra “El Castillo Rojo”, a cargo de la compañía La Maquiné. Todos los espectáculos son gratuitos excepto el del día 25 de mayo que se regirá por las tarifas habituales del Teatro Pablo Neruda.

La celebración religiosa tendrá lugar el 25 de mayo con la celebración de una eucaristía a las 18:30 y una procesión por las calles del pueblo.

Origen de la fiesta

Esta fiesta conmemora la efeméride del 25 de mayo de 1811, cuando las tropas francesas saquearon la iglesia del municipio dando muerte al sacristán y a su hijo, que intentaban defender el templo. La fiesta comenzó a celebrarse como un desagravio por el expolio con la procesión del santísimo. A principios del siglo pasado las mujeres comenzaron a sacar en procesión a la Inmaculada, dando origen al actual nombre de Fiesta de las Mozuelas.
