El grupo granadino Pájaro Jack, integrado por Jaime Beltrán, Mario Fernández, Mario Rodríguez, Arturo Muñoz y Daniel Guirado, ha sido el ganador del Circuito Joven Pop-Rock de Andalucía, una iniciativa organizada por el Instituto Andaluz de la Juventud de la Junta de Andalucía que tiene por objetivo promover la obra de jóvenes artistas andaluces.

Según comunicó el coordinador del Instituto Andaluz de la Juventud, Guillermo Quero, “se presentaron a este certamen cerca de 90 grupos de toda Andalucía”. El final de esta edición tuvo lugar los días 9, 10 y 11 de octubre en la muestra de música independiente Monkey Week celebrada en la localidad gaditana de El Puerto de Santa María, y el grupo granadino “Pájaro Jack” se alzó con la victoria junto al grupo “Tannhäuser” de Sevilla.

El jurado del certamen estuvo integrado por Arturo García (delegado en Andalucía de la revista Mondosonoro); Antonio Blanco (Productor Musical); Salvador Catalán (Técnico de actividades culturales de la Universidad de Cádiz); Blas Fernández (crítico musical); y Víctor Sola (Director del Play Music Fest).

“Pájaro Jack”, nació en Granada a principios del pasado año, editando pronto su primer LP, “Las Luces”, con el que consiguieron reseñas muy favorables en multitud de medios nacionales, como Radio3. Con este trabajo, han logrado también proclamarse grupo revelación nacional 2010 del concurso de maquetas “La merienda” del Festival Contemporánea, así como finalistas en los Levis Unfamous Music Awards 2010. Con un nuevo EP, “En los días del calor”, grabado y producido por Paul Grau, pretenden acercar el folk norteamericano y británico de los años 60 y 70 al castellano.

La banda será recompensada con un curso de composición y producción musical; la grabación y edición de un CD conjunto; y la participación en el Circuito Nacional de Salas “Artistas en Ruta” y en una gira de actuaciones con un mínimo de cinco conciertos en escenarios andaluces del más alto nivel, como los teatros Central (Sevilla), Alhambra (Granada), Cánovas (Málaga), y el Festival Eutopía de Córdoba.
